Introduction: From Raw Sound to Pro Sound

Welcome to this module on mixing — going from raw sound to pro sound. The goal: understand how to move from a slightly amateur sound to a genuinely professional one, and how to do all of it in the box, meaning entirely on the computer.

A simplified version of mixing

This isn't about competing with the old-school sound engineers — some of them may well tear their hair out watching this module. What you get here is a concrete way of working to get your cues placed, a method proven over hundreds of placements. So this is one version of mixing: simplified, straight to the point. That's exactly what this module is for.

A new workflow

What changed is an entire workflow, different from what we used to do. It lets you get a professional sound with a coherent mixing chain, while leaning on the computer. That's what really transformed the way of working.
