What This Module Covers
This module belongs to the Mastering Musical Emotions series, and it covers the full action range: from moderate action to fast action.
It's shorter than the previous one, which ran long because of the sheer variety of styles it had to cover. Here the ground is narrower.
Short, but Demanding
Shorter doesn't mean lighter. Action music contains a lot of notes, and those notes take time to compose and to write. The cues are generally dense, and building them is real work.
Don't judge this module by its number of videos. It's an intensive one.
What You'll Be Able to Do
By the end of it, you'll be able to:
- Write dynamic cues that fit an action scene, whether the action is moderate or fast.
- Build rhythms that reinforce the intensity and push the action forward.
- Hold your own against sound effects, which are everywhere in fast action scenes and fight your music for the same space.
That last point is worth keeping in mind from the start: in an action scene, your music is never alone in the mix.
